The
passing of Jack Farber aws sad to hear however we all should look back at the time we may
have been lucky to spend with him. While in the Personnel Dept.at RCA Jack was always
available to help the employees in any way he could, whether it was figuring retirement
plans or medical issues, etc. Jack also was one of the charter members and prime movers of
the RCA Retiree Northeast Group and gave much time and insight to the continuance of that
organization. We shall all miss Jack but just remember that he is in a better place
now amusing his old and new friends. I wish I could see his belly shake one more
time when he laughed. To live in the hearts you leave behind is not to die at all.

Charles came to Globcom, from RCA Camden, NJ, sometime in 1964 when CTS
(then known as ETS was installed on the 3rd floor of 60 Broad Street. Charles (or as I
called him C-square because his middle initial was also (C) was the programmer who taught
us how to run the Test and Maintenance routines for the system. After the system was
operational he chose to remain with Globcom as a programmer for the T&M pragrams and
eventually sequed into programming for AIRCON as well. He was never too busy to explain
how the T&M programs worked and was very patient with all of us during our training,
and the shakedown of the system. Charles was a good friend and lots of fun with an
affable and warm personality. We eventually started a poker game with several of us
involved with CTS and AIRCON , consisting of Charles, Myself, Lee Wilson, Russ blackwell,
Patty Hibbert and Patty's cousin and sever others whose names escape me. May He Rest

I am sure that many people are not aware of what a great guy John
McKenna was. Let me relate a story that goes back to when I was a telephone recording
operator back in late 40's in the phone room. One of the operators in the phone room was a chap,
Eddie Kasbarian. A really nice guy, champion bowler and all around gentleman.
Unfortunately, early on he developed rheumatoid arthritis and found it difficult to walk,
or use his hands, consequently he was out sick many times. John McKenna, who was the
General Superintendent at that time, was aware of his serious condition and realizing that
Ed's sick benefits were fast expiring came down to the phone room and made this promise to
him. "Do not worry about your paycheck, if you can make it to the office fine and if
you cannot stay home and your paycheck will always be there for you".
That's the type of guy John McKenna was. Tough negotiator and boss,
but with compassion. Unfortunately, Ed did not last very long and he died
after suffering a painful and debilitating illness. I like to think that
his last months were made easier by John McKenna's compassion and
understanding.

I did not know Ed until
I went into Marine Sales. He treated me like a Son and I looked up to him like a father.
We remained in close contact until his passing. He will be missed dearly.
(Phil Rauso)

I remember Ed from the
old Personnel Dept. before it was Human Relations or Human Resources or all the other
names. He was a very good man and good friend to me and especially to Bob Angliss
and may they both get together and rekindle old friendships in heaven. It seems to
me that we are losing much of past history but we should look back with fond memories of
all who have passed. To live in the hearts you leave behind is not to die at all..
